The doctors of Fair Lawn Dental Associates are part of a 50-year tradition of
dental excellence, comfort and care which began when Dr. Arthur Mahler founded
the practice in 1956. Dr. Mahler and his son, Dr. Douglas Mahler, as well as their
team of dental specialists, have dedicated their professional careers to providing
their patients with the very best that dentistry has to offer – gentle care, warm,
personal attention and state-of-the-art facilities and techniques.

Today, Fair Lawn Dental Associates has grown to encompass a team of six dentists
(Drs. Arthur and son Douglas Mahler among them), including several specialists in
periodontics (gums and gum disease), endodontics (root canal therapy), and oral surgery,
as well as a highly trained staff of office professionals. And all are conveniently located
under one roof to better serve our family of patients by providing better continuity of
care through a team approach.

Though Fair Lawn Dental Associates has grown in size and scope to offer complete,
convenient one-stop dental care, one thing hasn’t changed. We are still committed to
providing superior gentle dental care with the most advanced treatments, warmest
personalized attention and the highest caliber of service, just as Dr. Samuel Mahler did
more than 90 years ago.
A Family Commitment to excellence.
The personal, individualized service for which we are known began back in the 1920s
when Dr. Samuel Mahler opened his first practice out of his home in Paterson. The next
generation of Mahler dentists began when his son, Dr. Arthur Mahler opened his own
practice in 1956. In the 1970s the practice outgrew its space and Dr. Arthur Mahler
moved to our current location in Fair Lawn, where Fair Lawn Dental Associates was born.
The third generation of Mahler dentists carried on the family tradition when Douglas
Mahler joined the practice in 1985.
